Broadcast Training Programme

The goal of the Broadcast Training Programme (BTP) is to prepare university students for an opportunity to work as broadcast professionals at the Olympic Games.

As the Host Broadcaster for the Olympic Games, OBS is committed to leave a long-term legacy of opportunities for the Olympic Host City and a generation of young people. In support of this goal, OBS, in conjunction with local universities, runs the Broadcast Training Program (BTP), a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to get valuable training and experience of how the largest broadcast operation in the world is put together and run.

The programme is designed to provide students with a unique experience working in professional paid positions as part of the Host Broadcast team.

These positions proved to be in high demand since the introduction of the programme in 1992. During the different editions of the BTP, the OBS team has been able to feel the students’ dedication, enthusiasm and willingness to learn, qualities which have proved critical for participants to gain the maximum possible from the programme itself.
